#NMVRD2021 Makes A Comeback - Building Community and Civic Power
National Muslim Voter Registration Day made a comeback this year - and it was stronger than ever! With 16 field partners ranging from coast to coast, this day was a coordinated effort to get Muslims registered to vote and exercise their civic power.
On August 27th, Friday our field partners were prepared to serve their community on the day of Jumah/prayer services with MyMuslimVote swag which included stickers, flyers and voter registration pledges.
National Muslim Voter Registration Day’s aim is to engage the Muslim community to register to vote, learn about local elections and campaigns and to also empower Muslims to be better civically engaged community members.
On #NMVRD, organizers hosted an Instagram Live to talk about the importance of voting not only in national presidential elections, but also to show up in local elections.
Local elections hold just as much power as Presidential Elections. These local elections determine policies related to public health, criminal justice, education, environmental protection and much more!
This year’s #NMVRD was a success as we engaged hundreds of voters across the country! This makes a huge difference and is one step closer to achieving the voting power the Muslim community has long strived to achieve.
Take a look at some pictures from our field partners on #NMVRD! We thank you for showing up for your community and encouraging them to be strong in their civic engagement.
Once again, we would like to thank this years National Muslim Voter Registration Day partners for creating space for their community to give them the tools they need to build civic power.
