I finally filed a complaint with the DHS and received a "number" which I have to present when I am booking a flight.

share your #FlyingWhileMuslim story

I have been unable to fly since 2015 without being scolded at the airport. Before 2015 I was only asked questions when I was flying back to the US from Europe, South America or Asia. However, after 2015, I get stopped at the US airports and I have spent numerous hours at the airport just to get a boarding pass. I finally filed a complaint with the DHS and received a "number" which I have to present when I am booking a flight. I have not tried that, but hopefully that will work. I am a health professional with a high level clearance, but I still have difficulty traveling freely. Being a Muslim American is extremely difficult due to ongoing discrimination and harassments.

Have you ever received a response or resolution from either an airline, airport or government official regarding the discrimination you experienced? If so, what was the response or the result?

I received a number from TRIP from the DHS and hopefully that will work.

Has the discrimination you've faced made it harder for you to travel? If so, in what ways and at what cost?

I have not been able to travel since 2015 due to a fear of harassment at the airport.

What was your reaction to the No-Fly List leak story? how did it make you feel?

Very upset, since I am tax paying citizen of a country that discriminates against me.
