Law Enforcement's Secret Weapon

The problem of policing is not limited to the police departments. It’s a system intertwined with so many public and private institutions, and many aspects of our social lives. In this easy-to-digest PDF, Crescendo breaks down the ways in which big tech companies like Amazon, Google, and and participate in and contribute to the surveillance and policing of Black and brown people’s lives.

“We know that the police are the problem, but they do not act alone. Tech corporations play an essential role in providing police with surveillance technology and infrastructure.”

“If we are to completely abolish state violence in our communities and communities abroad, we must also name corporate profits and abolish them too.”

About Crescendo:

Crescendo is a project of the ACRE, LittleSis, and MPower Change that is focused on researching and campaigning against anti-Muslim corporations. Anti-Muslim corporations are those that provide financial support to organizations, politicians, other corporations, or individuals that are engaged in attacks on Muslims, and those whose business practices are anti-Muslim (e.g., companies that discriminate against Muslim workers, profit from war in Muslim countries, profit from the incarceration and/or deportation of Muslims, and provide platforms for or promote anti-Muslim hate groups).
